I still have a LOT to learn, but I feel like I've accomplished a lot!Ĭharacter select screen has been changed to the original backgroundįatality sound clip restored to the original clip - was the "vs screen" clip to sound more like MK2. 180 and its debugger, GIMP for palette editing, and a little program called TMS Assembler that Abystus wrote, taking commands and turning them into assembly code.īetween this and the first beta I'd say I've been at this as a serious hobby for about 5 months or so. The tools I used are a program/hex editor named 010 Editor, Mame. r/pinball - Pinball specific discussion.įirst off, a big shout out to ZPaul2Fresh8 (the Mortal Kombat II + guy), SK the Konqueror (author of MK2 TE and UMK3 TE) for assisting in getting over some programming humps and learning curves, and YourMKArcadeSource (has a killer youtube channel of the same name) for play testing on genuine arcade hardware. r/arcade - Original CoinOP Arcade specific discussion. r/RetroGamingNetwork - a multireddit for retro gaming! r/HyperSpin - HyperSpin specific discussion.

R/MAME RULES/REGULATIONS REDDIT'S ARCADE COMMUNITY Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten.

MAME’s purpose is to preserve decades of software history. MAME is a multi-purpose emulation framework. Questions? Please check out OUR MAME/BYOAC Wiki!
